Hi my Name is Jean Nicole Criz and my partner is Jeaneth Marie Jubay We are from section apung-malyari Grade 11,and we are currently discussing the LGBTQ Community to educate individuals who are opposed to it. Because many individuals have misconceptions about the definition of LGBTQ,we will provide the factual definition of the group.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) pride, usually referred to as gay pride or just pride, is the advocacy of self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and increased visibility of LGBT persons as a social group. The prevailing mindset supporting most LGBT rights groups is pride, as opposed to shame and social censure. Ranging from solemn to carnivalesque, pride events are typically held during LGBT Pride Month or some other period that commemorates a turning point in a country’s LGBT history, such as Moscow Pride in May for the anniversary of Russia’s 1993 decriminalization of homosexuality. Pride has lent its name to LGBT-themed organizations, institutes, foundations, books, book titles, periodicals, a cable TV station, and the Pride Library. LGBT pride parades and marches, rallies, and commemorations are some of the events.Days of the community, dance events, and festivals

The Equality Act is a historic piece of legislation that would broaden federal civil rights laws to protect LGBTQ persons from discrimination in public places, employment, housing, credit, jury service, and federally supported programs, including those for health and education. Nondiscrimination protections are urgently needed because, according to a nationally representative 2020 survey from the Center for American Progress, one in three LGBTQ Americans—including three in five transgender Americans—experienced discrimination in the past year. Evidence also shows that discrimination has a negative impact on basic economic security. This fact sheet explains how the Equality Act advances fair treatment for LGBTQ people, women, and other groups.
